Demir won the Best Spiker individual award during the 2013–14 CEV Champions League Final Four held in Baku, Azerbaijan. There her team lost the semifinal to VakıfBank İstanbul and the Bronze Medal match to Rabita Baku.
Neslihan demir was married to Orkun Darnel (captain of the Galatasaray Swimming Team) on July 16, 2006. Zeynep Penelope is the daughter of the couple. After playing twenty-years of water polo at the Galatasaray Daikin club, Orkun Darnel was appointed manager of Galatasaray Daikin’s women’s volleyball team. In March 2013, the couple announced their separation.
Demir, aged 19, was the most prominent player on the Turkish team that won silver at the EC 2003 Turkey. This made her a star in her country and the volleyball scene.
