He lost a 10-round, competitive decision on CBS Sports Network to Lateef Kayode, an ex-World title challenger and boxing star. He defeated Brian Holstein, a ranked opponent, in a few fights to win the WBA USA National Championship title.
In 2018, Kisner defended his title in a rematch against Brian Holstein in Columbus, Ohio.
